Hi, I m trying to put together a multiseat system using kensington Plugable Docks which offer DVI over USB through displaylink. Can you guide me how i should proceed and which fedora release offers multiseat setup with maximum ease?
Thankyou very much in advance.
Any recent (F19-F21) Fedora release should offer something close to an out-of-the-box experience with the Plugable Docks, assuming they’re supported by a modern Linux kernel. I would suggest installing Fedora 21 on the computer, plugging in the docks, and then plugging in monitors, keyboards and mice into the docks. If the docks are supported, new login screens should appear on each monitor.
+1 Nice blog, Do you know other Linux sysadmin in Lebanon?
One or two. There aren’t very many.
Anyone is looking for a job? 🙂
Could you please let people comment even on older older posts? I can’t even comment on a post regarding multi-seat under Fedora 21, even if Fedora 21 hasn’t reached yet its end of life.
Sorry, the default when I set this site up was to close comments at 14 days and I never bothered changing it. Since you’ve asked, I’ve gone ahead and changed it now so comments will never be closed.
